Look What You've Done: Facebook
I feel that the social media networks are awesome. You get to create profiles. Look how you would like to look. Talk about whatever you would like to talk about. In a way you even gain a fan base. 10 people like your status or maybe 80, and in a perfect world, that same number would like the picture you just posted of yourself.
I don't know about you, but social networks (USED TO) boost my ego. Not only boost ,but build. I didn't have much of one when I first starting using facebok back in '09. I was just so crucial. No capital MC, no Mickey Factz, no nothing. I knew I was pretty in real life, but facebook made that ever clear to me.
What influenced me the most from facebook was what it taught me and what I still believe today. That is that I am one COOL indiviual. My personality is just different from most. And yes I am bragging but I have no choice to belive this because it has been told to me over and over again. It's not like 20 people have EVER liked a status of mine. It's simply the fact that it's been enough to suit my standards. That shy kid who never got noticed by guys was now talking to them online with no problem.
I have even made good friends just off of facebook. Yes they may be only guys, but they are rare of the rare pick. I guess you could say I appreciate them.
Well I think you'd be happy to know, I am no longer apart of a vast network of PEOPLE whom I barely even know. I am just now reaching 150 friends after one year of my new facebook. On this one, I know or have met EVERY SINGLE person at least once. I'm quite proud of myself.
I thought it would be hard, but it's totally worth it. Now, yes, it is.. more boring. I find irritations in this one as I did in my other one. But at least this facebook profile is something I can be proud of.
